17 members of our wonderful team undertook a 22 mile charity challenge walk in the Peak District on Saturday.
The team faced scorching temperatures as they trekked across nine of the Derbyshire edges, taking in sensational views along the way.
John Robson, Senior Architectural Technician, said: “The walk turned out to be tougher than I thought but overall it was a huge success and I’m glad we chose our local Derbyshire Edges as so many of our team hadn’t seen them before. I’d like to give a special shout out to Alex, who still completed the course with the worst blisters I’ve ever seen and of course to Dale who found us at every checkpoint with much needed sustenance to keep us going.”
The walk was in aid of Derbyshire Mind – a local independent mental health charity who provide vital services throughout Derbyshire. The team have raised over £1,200 so far and we’d like to thank everyone who has supported us.
We’d also like to thank Richard and Dora from Peak Walking Adventures who expertly guided us through the day – they made the tough experience enjoyable and stress-free (blisters aside!).
Finally, thank you to the team who took part: John, Gillian, James, Josh, Sophie, Nik, Emma, David, Pete, Sam, Cinzia, Giovanni, Cerys, Alex, Liam, Hayley, Paul and not forgetting Dale who was a huge support on the day.
