Job title: Project Manager
When did you join Morrison Design? I worked for Morrison Design from 1998 until 2004 and returned to the business in September 2021.
How did you get into architecture? My Uncle was a draughtsman and I was always fascinated by the hand-drawn drawings he had on drawing boards when I visited and it inspired me to pursue a career in Architecture. I first started in the business whilst at college and worked as a Trainee Architectural Technician but as the years progressed and I became more involved in projects I gravitated towards project management.
What are you currently working on? The huge Westbury Hotel project in Mayfair, London – it’s quite the team effort! I’m also working on Washington House which is another Mayfair hotel project.
Which project are you most proud of? The Westbury Hotel is a hugely challenging and complex project. It’s a lengthy job but we have a great team working on it and I’m extremely proud of what we’ve achieved so far.
What do you love most about your job? The everyday interaction I have with people, from the team here at Morrison Design to contractors and clients. I get a lot of satisfaction from when we pull together to problem solve and work out a positive solution.
What’s it like to work at Morrison Design? The office has a great vibe – it’s quite a young team and we all get on well. Our office is a large, open plan space which helps us collaborate and we have a modern approach to working life.
Why should clients choose to work with Morrison Design? We have a lot of varied experience across different sectors and a great mix of team members who are hugely knowledgeable and those who are able to give problems a fresh outlook. We get a lot of repeat business which is a testament to the service we provide our clients. Having project management as an integral part of our business ensures that projects are run smoothly and communication is slick as the project manager is more embedded in the whole process.
