Morrison Design are leading the professional team in a construction project to create a new 4* hotel in central London. The site is currently two separate buildings which house a 2* and 3* hotel; they will be combined to create one new 100+ bedroom hotel..
Work started on site this week to create a new lobby and reception area, breakfast room and 4* guest bedrooms. The project also includes an enhanced new façade incorporating the creation of a single entrance to what was once two separate buildings.
The Morrison Design team achieved successful planning permission for rear extensions to accommodate additional bedrooms and garden area – all under extremely complex planning restrictions.
Nik Clarke, Director at Morrison Design, said: “We are taking one of the buildings back to the bare bones and creating a completely new interior layout. The other building is undergoing total refurbishment. The hotel will be more luxurious to ensure improved guest experience and higher occupancy rates for the client.”
Work will begin on site this week with completion expected early 2023.
The Morrison Design team are working with Vascroft Contractors Ltd, Interiors by Dexter Moren Associates, Mechanical and Engineering by Slender Winter Partnership, Structural Engineering by Rodgers Leask, Quantity Surveying by Virtus Consult and Lighting Design by Elektra Lighting Design.
