Morrison Design smash Trek26

The Morrison Design team triumphed on the Derbyshire hills on Saturday, with a team of nine successfully completing Trek26 in aid of Alzheimer’s Society.

Josh, Ollie, Cerys and Alex smashed the 13 mile route while Les, Nik, Liam, Sophie and Hayley battled the 26 mile trek – together they walked 182 miles for their charity of the year.

Both teams hiked through the beautiful Peak District, taking in dramatic rocky outcrops, wild moorlands and tranquil dales.

Liam Feldman, Architectural Technologist, said: “The trek was a tough one but we were all determined to cross the finish line and raise as much money as we could for such an important charity. There was a particularly hilly section after the lunch stop which seemed never-ending at the time and the last few miles were hard work. We had a great team to walk with and we kept each other’s spirits up when we were all exhausted.”

There are approximately 1 million people in the UK with dementia and that’s set to rise to 1.4 million by 2040. The cost of dementia in the UK is £42 billion with estimates showing that 63% of these costs are shouldered by people with dementia and their families. This cost is set to rise to £90 billion a year by 2040 unless action is taken.

Alzheimer’s Society provides vital care and support to people with dementia and their families, they also fund groundbreaking research and campaign for change. Every penny we can raise will go towards improving the lives of those with dementia so, if you’re able, please donate what you can.
