The laboratory will be located at the University’s Kedleston Road site and will revolutionise the University’s student offer, creating an innovative, inspiring and interdisciplinary teaching facility focusing on core elements of Biomedical Science. We enjoyed getting the full team together on Friday for another team away day.  After some delicious breakfast pastries, we updated the team on all our latest projects – from those completed and those in progress, to projects we’ll be working on in the future. 2024 miles: October update

John has been eating up the miles as part of his 2,024 mile challenge for Alzheimer’s Society. Construction begins on Derby’s Future Mobility Hub

Construction is underway for the Future Mobility Hub – a sustainable travel zone based at the University of Derby’s Kedleston Road site – with Morrison Design as the appointed architects. The hub, a partnership between Derby City Council and the University of Derby and will be a first of its kind in the city, offering Construction begins on Derby’s Future Mobility Hub

Architectural Practice of the Year

Morrison Design are excited to be finalists in the Architectural Practice of the Year category of the National Building & Construction Awards. Our entry featured the incredible Lubrizol Conference Centre – a state of the art, energy efficient space which is visually striking and sympathetic to the environment. We also showcased our inclusive and welcoming Architectural Practice of the Year

Celebrating Black History Month

In celebration of Black History Month, we spent Friday lunchtime eating delicious Caribbean food, watching some educational videos and taking part in a team quiz. The team also dressed in red to champion Wear Red Day, supporting anti racism. The event was organised by our passionate Diversity & Inclusion team who also created an educational Celebrating Black History Month

Architect of the Year Awards

Whilst we didn’t receive any silverware in the Building Design Architect of the Year awards this week, we are proud to have been shortlisted in three categories and congratulate all the winners and finalists. We’re honoured to be shortlisted alongside some incredible practices and are proud that our small practice has the opportunity to work Architect of the Year Awards

Going for the treble at the AYAs

Morrison Design are finalists in three categories of the Building Design Architect of the Year awards next week. We’re delighted to be shortlisted in the Retail & Leisure, Higher Education and Net Zero categories.  In the Retail & Leisure Architect of the Year category we feature Point A Parnell Street in Dublin,  a 141 bedroom Going for the treble at the AYAs

Brown’s Hotel awards

We are proud to announce that a Morrison Design project has won two prestigious awards.  Brown’s Hotel, part of the prestigious Rocco Forte Hotels, has been recognised by readers as the 2nd ‘Best Hotel in London’ in the Condé Nast Traveller Readers Choice Awards 2024.  Brown’s have also been awarded two Michelin Keys in The Brown’s Hotel awards

September Charity update

As we enter into Autumn, six members of the Morrison Design team have completed a 3 month long step challenge, totalling a whopping 5.5 million steps between them, all in aid of Alzheimer’s Society. Jo, Nik, Liam, Cinzia, Les and Hayley have averaged 10k steps per day to reach over 900,000 steps each – representing September Charity update
