Nine of our Morrison Design team are set to take on Trek26 this Saturday in aid of their charity of the year, Alzheimer’s Society.
Josh, Ollie, Cerys and Alex will take on the 13 mile challenge while Sophie, Les, Nik, Liam and Hayley are braving the 26 mile trek. Both teams will hike through the beautiful Peak District, taking in dramatic rocky outcrops, wild moorlands and tranquil dales. Sophie Cantrill, Architectural Assistant, said:
“I’m excited to take part in Trek26. Alzheimer’s Society is such a worthy cause and it’s great that we can come together as a team to raise vital funds. Hopefully the weather is on our side for the day.”
There are approximately 1 million people in the UK with dementia and that’s set to rise to 1.4 million by 2040. The cost of dementia in the UK is £42 billion with estimates showing that 63% of these costs are shouldered by people with dementia and their families. This cost is set to rise to £90 billion a year by 2040 unless action is taken.
Alzheimer’s Society provides vital care and support to people with dementia and their families, they also fund groundbreaking research and campaign for change. Every penny we can raise will go towards improving the lives of those with dementia so, if you’re able, please donate what you can.
