QBIC Hotel

Coined as Londonʼs ʻgreenest hotelʼ, Qbic pride themselves on their vision for 42 Alder Street. “Beautiful, sustainably built, affordable and the comfiest room in the city”.

The client secured a long-term lease specifically to convert Challenger House, the existing 4 storey office building and basement, into a branded hotel providing 187 limited-service guest bedrooms.

“Carefully considering our environment, the patented construction technique for the ‘Cubi’ bedroom pod, meant we could avoid destructive adaptation of old buildings and minimise material waste. Each part of the pod is brought through a doorway, improving both the lifecycle of the product and the adaptive re-use and refurbishment of the host building.”
