Student Vision on Display at Greenway Exhibition

Associate Director Dale Roberts attended the University of Derby Greenway Masterplan Exhibition 2026 at Britannia Mill, where final-year Architecture students showcased their proposals for a greenway linking Markeaton Park with the city centre campus.

As part of their final-year project, students were challenged to develop concepts for sites along the proposed route, demonstrating their creativity, technical skills and understanding of sustainable urban design.

A group of people at the degree show gathered round a 3D model. Display boards are on tall panels and other people are in the background viewing the exhibition.

Reflecting on the exhibition, Dale said: “I spoke with several of the architecture students about their proposals for developing sites along the proposed route and was encouraged by the standard of designs displayed.”

The exhibition highlighted the talent and innovation of the next generation of architects, with a range of thoughtful and imaginative responses that could help inform future discussions around the Greenway’s development.
