A big night for the University of Derby Bioscience Superlab! We’re delighted to see the project shortlisted in not one, but two categories at tonight’s Constructing Excellence East Midlands Awards: Retrofit Project of the Year and Building Project of the Year.
This recognition follows the project’s recent double shortlist at the CN Life Sciences, Tech and Research Clusters Awards 2026, continuing an exciting period of industry recognition for everyone involved.
The Bioscience Superlab transformed existing office accommodation into a flexible, future-focused teaching and research environment, demonstrating how thoughtful retrofit can create inspiring spaces that support modern bioscience education.
Being recognised across both retrofit and building categories reflects the ambition, quality and collaborative effort behind the project.
