John Robson, Senior Architectural Technician at Morrison Design, has successfully completed his 2,024 mile challenge with one last ride around our local park, Darley Abbey.
John has been raising money for Alzheimer’s Society, a charity close to his heart after both of his parents suffered with dementia. He has raised a staggering £1,006.
The challenge has seen John averaging around 39 miles per week, every week during 2024. With no time off for holidays he’s cycled on an exercise bike on a cruise ship and on holiday in North Carolina. But it’s not all been plain sailing as he’s contended with some terrible weather and, just when he thought things may improve, the Great British Summer brought lots more rain.
As if this challenge wasn’t difficult enough, John decided to renovate a vintage Raleigh Chopper and ride his 15 mile Ashbourne to Derby commute on it. After one mile round Darley Abbey park Pete and Josh can vouch for just how difficult this bike is to ride.
“The whole Morrison Design team are immensely proud of John. The commitment and dedication he’s shown throughout the year is inspiring. The money he has raised will support Alzheimer’s Society’s goal to work towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. Well done John – enjoy your well deserved Christmas break.”
