2024 Miles: March update

A slightly delayed update this month due to the Easter break. Month three of John’s 2040 miles challenge is complete and he’s now a quarter of the way through, completing 507 miles by the end of March, in aid of Alzheimer’s Society.

“I’m pretty sure each month so far this year has been labelled, THE WETTEST MONTH ON RECORD which is evident in the first photo taken earlier this month on a bike ride out to Parsley Hay. And then things didn’t get much drier on a trip to the Lake District with my friends when we went hill walking near Coniston Water – cheers lads for the donations.

I’ve even attempted to get back into park run in my home town of Ashbourne but any thoughts of a P.B. were dismissed when you realise the course is mostly mud at the minute. On the plus side I am now officially a quarter of the way into this challenge…thank you to all for the sponsorship money. And for those of you more interested in the Raleigh Chopper update, it’s painted, stickers on, seat, wheels and chain on! I need some new chopper handlebars and a few other bits to finish and then I might attempt a commute on it – it’s only about 14 miles!!!”
