We’ve partnered with Crimson Hotels for several phases of development at Crowne Plaza, Gatwick.
Our first brief was to create a guest entrance with wow factor. We created a striking winged porte-cochere which is the focal point of the geometric hard and soft landscaping. The geometry continued with the curved planar glazed canopy and the stepped glazed entrance façade, with a new circular rendered stair tower.
We then took an area of under-used car park next to the existing hotel, to construct an eye-catching 7-storey extension, providing 50 new, swanky club bedrooms and suites. The building incorporates extensive areas of glazing to guest rooms with carefully detailed brise soleil and balustrading and is topped off by a fully glazed penthouse.
We also completed a conversion of the existing pool and gym to significantly increase the food and beverage offering of the hotel. The scheme created a much-extended restaurant, new bar, external dining terrace, additional meeting rooms and a new gym.
“We’re honoured to have partnered with the hotel for many years and led several phases of redevelopment. The hotel is now perfectly positioned for years to come.”
