Morley Hayes Hotel
The 32 bedroom new build hotel by Morrison Design is set within the green belt and designed to merge into the landscape and harmonise with the existing golf club buildings. The design saw single loaded bedrooms to reduce mass, in an L-shaped plan that created a courtyard with the original farm grouping. The two-storey element is set within the contours; single-storey on the entrance façade and two-storey to the balcony rooms overlooking the golf course. The timber king post porte-cochere, the palette of natural, locally sourced materials and vernacular detailing all reflect this contextual design approach.
