Our archive holds hotel projects that continue to speak for themselves decades after completion.
This week, we’re looking back at the Holiday Inn Kuwait Al Thuraya City, originally designed in 1978 and still operating as a key destination today. The scheme centres around a dramatic internal atrium, bringing daylight deep into the building and creating a strong sense of orientation and connection across the space.

Integral to the hotel design is a large-scale tapestry, conceived as part of the original vision and produced in the UK. It stands as a reminder of the level of craft and collaboration embedded in the project from the outset.
The result is a building that has adapted over time while retaining the essence of its original design intent.
