Architectural designs completed by Morrison Design for the new Tower Café and driving range facilities at Morley Hayes Hotel and Golf complex were showcased when it was officially opened by Derby County stars Jack Marriott and Martyn Waghorn.

The event marked the completion of extensive renovation works to expand the golf provision at Morley Hayes.

Morley Hayes are a longstanding client of Morrison Design. We were also the appointed architect on the Roosters Bar and on the back of this we were appointed to help this luxury hotel, golf and wedding complex design and develop these additional facilities.

Working with the Morley Hayes management we created all architectural drawing and submitted the necessary planning applications for approval. Building works were carried out by the in-house grounds maintenance team with specialist support from sub-contractors as required.

Alongside the new 17 bay, all-weather floodlit driving range the new Tower Café, features a new comfortable lounge area to enable golfers to relax after a session on the range. It has been practically designed to cater to the needs of golfers looking for hot and cold drinks, snacks, cakes and light bites. The café is also open to business customers and includes power sockets on each table and free wi-fi.

We also designed a new retail area to showcase a range of golf clothing, accessories and golf balls from leading golf brands such as Under Armour, Footjoy and Titleist.

The new driving range complements the already top-class golf facilities available at Morley Hayes, which include a championship length 18-hole Manor course, 9-hole Tower course, golf pavilion and the highly-respected East Midlands Golf Academy.

Commenting on the launch, Andrew Allsop, Managing Director of Morley Hayes, said: “ The new driving range and Tower Café are already proving a hit with our customers and we hope they continue to be enjoyed for many years to come.”

Commenting on the project, Nik Clarke, Director, from Morrison Design added, “The Morley Hayes complex continues to grow its reputation as a quality golf break venue. We are delighted that our golf hotel architect expertise and the designs we created for the interior of the café have helped to ensure the finished design fully met it objectives.”

Set in the stunning Derbyshire countryside overlooking parkland golf courses, Morley Hayes boasts a luxury four star, 32-bedroom hotel also designed by Morrison Design in 2005 and a choice of three restaurants, including the award-winning two AA rosette Dovecote restaurant, Roosters and Spike Bar.
