Located on the very edge of the greenbelt, this development to provide modern boarding facilities for up to 80 students at this part-residential specialist music school the represents first stage in a multi-phased redevelopment of the existing campus. The accommodation is spread over five floors, arranged in two separate single-sex “houses” and planned to maximise flexibility to allow for fluctuating student numbers. Student bedrooms are located on the middle three floors with communal facilities and two deputy-housemasters’ flats at ground level, and two housemasters’ flats on the fourth floor
Originally appointed to provide architectural services to design and build contractor Bowmer & Kirkland (London) Ltd, Morrison Design Ltd’s role has subsequently expanded to prepare a revised development masterplan for
the School.
